Members' Meeting 1/25/19

Today members discussed two events: the election of Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House and the Los Angeles Teachers' Strike.

We talked about the process of electing a Speaker in the House and conducted an overview of her campaign. We also talked about the implications of her winning her campaign and what it could mean for the Trump Administration.

For the LA Teachers' Strike, members discussed the root causes behind it and what the teachers' demands are. We also talked about possible policy solutions that could resolve it.
